Gillingham School, one of Dorset’s oldest schools, celebrates its five hundredth anniversary in 2016.
Founded as a Free School in Tudor times, it moved to its present site in 1876, when it became Gillingham Grammar School.
This book relates its growth and development from its earliest times to the flourishing school of today.
This is the story of the school, its teachers and pupils, and its varying fortunes through the many years of educational change.
